A Legacy of Compassion

Some bonds can't be measured in years. The love between a person and their pet is woven into daily life — into morning walks, quiet evenings, and moments that become some of the most cherished memories we carry. When that bond is broken, the loss can feel profound and disorienting.

At Cherish Pet Cremations, we understand that. We've been walking alongside grieving families for over 25 years, providing a dignified, respectful farewell for the pets who meant everything. Our guiding principle is simple, and it shapes everything we do: we treat every pet as our own.

25 Years of Trust — Now Serving Chesapeake, Virginia

What began as a commitment to give every animal the care and dignity they deserve has grown into a quarter-century of service to families across Hampton Roads. Over those 25 years, we've been honored to help thousands of families say goodbye — and to play a small but meaningful role in the healing that follows.

We recently relocated our operations to Chesapeake, Virginia, where we continue to provide the same thoughtful, personalized care our families have always trusted us for. Our new home is centrally located to serve the entire Hampton Roads area, and our commitment to you remains exactly as it has always been: unwavering.

Our address: 3917 Hanes St, Chesapeake, VA 23324

Transparency — We walk you through every step so there are no surprises, only peace of mind.

A team that listens — Grief looks different for everyone. We follow your lead, offering as much or as little guidance as you need.

Meet the Team

The people behind Cherish Pet Cremations are not just professionals — they are pet owners themselves, neighbors in this community, and individuals who chose this work because they believe every animal deserves a final goodbye that honors the life they lived.

Stuart Chesson — Co-Owner

Stuart signed onto Cherish with a belief that no family should have to navigate one of life's hardest moments without a steady, caring hand to guide them. His leadership shapes the compassionate culture at the heart of everything we do.

Jerry Jones — Co-Owner

As co-owner, Jerry ensures that every family's experience — from the first phone call to the final return of remains — is handled with care, professionalism, and genuine human warmth.

Mel Duggan — Office Manager

Mel is often the first voice you'll hear when you reach out to us, and she takes that responsibility seriously. She coordinates every detail behind the scenes to make sure your experience is as smooth and peaceful as possible during an incredibly difficult time.
